Quote: Good lord, you even got the hair right!
I didn't alter the hair from the Venkman figure at all.

It actually looks like what my hair used to look like back when we started GBWC at least. I'm actually amazed that the figure had the same hair color I do. Still, awesome job Fritz, never thought I'd be an action figure.

Now if only I thought I had the skill to actually do that to a couple of actually figures instead of just photoshopping.

I was asked on GBFans when I was going to try to draw some of the characters who were introduced in Ghostbusters: Afterlife and said "soon". "Soon" is now "now"
We start with Trevor, the older of Callie's two children--he was born in February 2006, is a bit of a gearhead (he gets the ECTO-1 going again with some help from the ghost of his grandfather, a guy named Egon), and is played in the movie by Finn Wolfhard of Stranger Things.
I suck at drawing real people, but this didn't come out too bad. I actually put in a small stylistic touch or two that I also use when drawing Egon (even though my depictions of Egon are more RGB based, and Trevor doesn't fit into the Ectozone universe because that Egon doesn't have kids until 1999).

Lucky Domingo is the daughter of the Sheriff of Summerville, Oklahoma, and her family's lived in the town for four generations. Trevor is immediately smitten with her. She eventually realizes that Trevor's sister Phoebe isn't nuts, and helps out against the impending supernatural catastrophe--and ends up briefly possessed in the process. She's played in the movie by Celeste O'Connor.

So next up is the strange young man known only as "Podcast" because, well, he runs a podcast, "Mystical Tales of the Unknown Universe". It's devoted to conspiracy theories and other weird things like, um, ghosts, so he becomes invaluable to understanding what's going on during the unfolding events of Ghostbusters: Afterlife. And at the end of the movie the identity of his one subscriber is revealed--an occult book store owner named Ray Stantz. He's portrayed in the movie by young actor Logan Kim (one of the only people who knows the character's real name--it wasn't revealed in the movie).
I'm not totally happy with this one...I keep feeling like I made him look too much like RGB Ray...but it'll do for now.

Last but certainly far from least--indeed, she's actually the star of Ghostbusters: Afterlife--Phoebe, Trevor's younger sister, and the one that is far more obviously the grandchild of Egon Spengler. She's socially awkward, not so good with the jokes, and when we first meet her she's rewiring the electrical system in her Mom's apartment. Phoebe discovering her heritage, and what Egon died trying to prevent, is the main arc of the movie. In a just world, they might be talking Oscar (no, not Peter Venkman's step son) for the young actress who brought her to life, McKenna Grace.
Because I'm me, as Phoebe is clearly wearing a "Spengler" flight suit in the last part of the movie, I had to include an extra whimsical picture from a timeline or two over, where Egon might have left a different colored uniform (and a later model PKE Meter) for her.

A few weeks ago I was going through my pictures and I found one I'd drawn but not colored of Spike from the classic Now Comics run.
I colored the picture and added a copy to the Spoiler page on the Ectozone, and there's a bigger version at my Deviantart.

I'm not familiar with the source material, so more than anything it reminds me of a toy t-rex I had as a child (unusually, it was red). But much cuter, and with more anatomically correct tail/leg usage. Clever details around the chin/neck area (is there a technical term for that?).

So...to continue something I did before...
I decided to have some fun photoshopping the product pictures of the new FEFF figures; like, what might they look like in a more animated universe?
First, the obvious one:
Yeah, that's just Egon's flight suit colors, but that seems to fit Phoebe to a T.
Then Gary:
Well...c'mon...haven't you seen those colors before?
Now with the remaining two, Callie and Trevor, I admit I couldn't help but get a little self-referential...
That just seems perfect for a blonde daughter of Egon Spengler, don't you think? Even if her mother's the wrong character.
And that seems about right for a male Spengler heir who's a bit of a gearhead, don't you think?
Now to think of some GBI members I can shop up with these
