Was this also to the tune of Billy Joel's "We Didn't Star The Fire"? The cadence seems similar, and the "What else do I have to say?" line is straight from Joel's song.

Well, I'm older than dirt, remember? The Billy Joel song came out in 1989, thirty-five years ago just after I graduated high school so for all I know you weren't even born when that song came out.
