I just carried over the tradition of dressing up the board for Halloween. You can see the Archive board has been similarly redone, and I'm even trying out changing the whole site (being able to do stuff like this is a bit part of why I switched to stylesheets in the first place!)

And if you don't like it, well, it's only for October!

Halloween's over, so back to the ol' red and black.

Until after Thanksgiving, at least.

It wasn't a huge deal--most of the red parts were orange, and the top logo looked sorta like this:


Just don't forget to drop by between Thanksgiving and Christmas, though.

I'm a little biased, I know, but I think the Christmas colors look kinda snazzy.

I actually uploaded the stylesheet to Subsilver2, one of the default skins for PhpBB3--it actually works better there than when I tried it on the usual Classy Dark/"Ecto Red" skin.

I also revised the Ectozone main page, but after the Halloween experiment I'm probably not going to redo the whole main site in the Christmas colors at this point. The stories just look too weird in them. Now if I ever did a Christmas fan fic, I might have it use that skin as a default, but for now, I think I'll leave everything except the homepage alone.

I reserve the right to change my mind later, of course.

The Holidays technically may not be over (That would be January 1 or January 5th, depending on how you look at it) but since Christmas is, the red, white, and green now go away until next November.

Next event will be Valentine's Day in February.

Alright Frtiz, this Valentines day I want you to decoate the board in screen shots of Egon and Janine. And when you first log on I want tiny thumbnail screenshots and hearts to float down from the top of the screen. That should be doable right? (And I haven't decided if this is a sarcastic post or not)

I think you're overestimating my programming abilities...

I'd already hacked together a style pretty close to the one I've used the last few years on the old board, but now I may have to see what I can do to jazz it up a little...
