2024 Continued...
In March, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire comes out, the fourth movie in the original continuity and the fifth movie overall. I...didn't get to the theater to see it.
But I did see it in July when I
got ahold of the DVD. Enjoyed it a great deal. It wasn't perfect, but still think it might be my second favorite Ghostbusters movie; it helped that unlike GB2 and GBA, none of my favorites had their characters assassinated, and the influence of a little cartoon called
The Real Ghostbusters was all over it.
Didn't get much toy-wise; still have the original Fright Features, so skipped the repops. Got Callie, Phoebe, and Gary of the new figures; Trevor, as mentioned above, was the exact same except for the nametag, so I skipped it unless/until I could find it on sale (never did).
Mondo teased, and then confirmed, a set of gobsmackingly on-model RGB action figures. Problem is, they're also gobsmackingly expensive. Maybe if I win the Powerball...
Finished "The Monster of Lungbarrow" as noted above, then launched into a new set of stories that began with "Every Future Has A Past" and continuing with the currently unfolding "The Sign of the Twins". "Every Future" was a collaboration with Ghostdiva, and featured turning points in the relationships of the Spengler Twins with each of their respective love interests. "Sign of the Twins" continues that, and is finally addressing some of the situations set up almost twenty years ago in "Gemini Rising".
Gen Con 2024 was awesome as always.
Presidential Election From Hell Part III was immensely unsatisfying--the villains win, just like they did in
Presidential Election From Hell Part I in 2016. Part II in 2020 was definitely the high water mark of the series so far.
2025
February 3: I once more make a self-indulgent post marking twenty two years since I first stepped into the waters of online Ghostbusters fandom.
