| Post subject: | What would an "It's a Wonderful Life" scenario in the GB universe be like? |
Here's what I think would happen if any of the Ghostbusters were never born. 1. Peter Venkman: If he wasn't born, then he wouldn't have been able to introduce Ray and Egon. However, I believe they would still have met and become friends since they were attending the same university and have the same interests. However, if Venkman wasn't around, would Egon and Ray have still lost their jobs? Or would they still be working at Columbia U? Even if they had lost their jobs, it's doubtful that they would've started the Ghostbusters business, since that was Venkman's idea, so probably, it'd be devastating if he weren't born. 2. Ray Stantz: Peter and Egon probably still would've lost their jobs even if Ray wasn't around, and since starting the business was Venkman's idea, they probably still would've done it. However, since the firehouse was inherited from Ray's parents, they wouldn't have it if he didn't exist. Also, Egon probably still would've been able to invent the tech, but it would've taken a lot longer without Ray's assistance. And Gozer would've chosen a different form (obviously) since it was Ray who imagined Stay Puft. 3. Egon Spengler: Without Egon, Venkman probably would've flunked out of college. Ray would probably still have gotten a PhD, and he might have still lost his job, but who knows what would have happened to him after? Ray might have been able to build some of the tech but I doubt he'd be able to invent all of it without Egon, and again, starting the Ghostbusters was Venkman's idea and he wouldn't have been there if he'd flunked. Therefore, probably Egon's non-existence would result in disaster. 4. Winston Zeddemore: The Ghostbusters would be very short-handed and have too many ghosts to deal with at once. |
