Ghostbusters: Nodus

1993--Timeline Year Eleven

Egon Spengler can't catch a break. Ten years ago he'd helped found Ghostbusters Inc. Today he's living alone, dealing with a shock of a personal nature, and now somebody wants to "test" him...and in the process the agenda of Josiah Nodus becomes just a little clearer.
----------------------------------
Set between RGB and EGB. Egon is all alone due to the events of "As Dreams Fade"

Titling this story after Josiah Nodus when it was mostly Egon didn't seem to make much sense at the time, but as we saw in "Gemini Rising" I had a very distinct reason behind doing so.

I have to give a shout out to one of Miss Janine's responses to the original thread, which was a perceptive comment about Nodus...

Miss Janine wrote:
At first I thought he was like a future, bitter Egon, and he was talking about his "former" friends, but now I know that's not true.

 ;)

I remember when I used to want to swear that Peter was Nodus. I thought E/J had finally knocked him off his rocker, lol.

I am still blown away by this story line, it totally has everything, and I loved every minute of the suspense. Makes some tv shows I used to like seem stupid by comparison.

This is a story that really showed that "less is more". No combat, no brandishing proton packs (although there was quite a few RGB cases that were successfully resolved without a single shot), but the psychology and the suspense are really great and make up for a cool ep. Strangely enough, when reading the sex scene in the beginning I thought of an RGB score tune that would have perfectly matched it had 'Nodus' ever made it onto the silver screen - the one that 'Venkman's Ghost Repellers' kicks off with (though it is cut short in that ep, it is also heard in some other classic episodes like 'The Call of Cathulhu' and 'Egon on the Rampage' but never again as a lead-off). Really weird feeling.

EDIT: I'm referring to this one:

Happy to admit how wrong I was (see Fritz's post above). All the clues were there, I just didn't put them together.
